One of the highlights is our dual-source-dual-energy-CT with 320 lines that is equipped with two X-ray tubes. The result: multiple times higher scanning speed, higher image quality, better display, most precise diagnostics despite up to 90 percent lower radiation dose. This is particularly advantageous when examining the coronary arteries. (The entire heart can be scanned in less than a second)
The X-rays are measured with detectors as they pass through the body and then converted into cross-sectional images using a computer (scanning speeds from 2 to 350 milliseconds with simultaneous acquisition of up to 384 slices). The necessary radiation dose can be reduced by up to 90 percent using the latest technology.
The result: precise and overlay-free images that enable precise evaluation and analysis; The smallest differences in density - and thus the finest structures, such as in the lungs or in the abdomen - can be displayed.
Special measuring programs enable the representation of the dental apparatus or the determination of the bone mineral salt content in osteoporosis examinations.
Computed tomography (CT) is a special x-ray examination that is used to make cross-sectional images of the body. This enables important information to be obtained about the location of the foci of disease. This is often of crucial importance for further treatment.
The main reason for a CT scan is that it is impossible to make a diagnosis without knowing what the inside of the body is like. In order to enable an exact diagnosis it is usually necessary to have a series of images of the internal structures of the body.
The examination takes a few minutes. During the examination you lie on a special examination table that moves through the opening of the CT device. During the entire examination, you are under the supervision of qualified personnel and connected to them via an intercom. In order to achieve the best possible quality of the images, we ask you to remain still during the entire examination. For some examinations we may ask you to follow instructions (e.g. inhale, exhale, hold your breath, do not swallow, etc.).
With more than 30,000 systems installed, Canon computer tomographs are valued by professionals worldwide for their excellent image quality, usability and reliability. Fast and safe imaging for patients is the focus of all our developments. Canon Medical's developments enable radiation dose reductions of up to 82%. Other technologies such as dynamic volume-computed tomography enables recordings of entire organs such as of the heart or brain in less than 1 second, increasing your safety and comfort.
